Who we are

Highfield Chimney Solutions (HCS) is a registered business name and the trading name of Wayne Highfield. 

This privacy notice explains:

Your personal information is collected from you when you buy a product from us, and when you request information about our products or services. We keep information on your activity with us, including your visits to our website.

We use this personal information to deal with your requests, perform and manage your order and where you have opted into marketing communications, offer you other products and services. We respect the privacy and confidentiality of your information and will not disclose it to third parties without your consent unless required to by law.

We may use information collected from our websites to personalise your repeat visits to our websites.

When placing an order (including chimney sweeps)

In order to place an order, perform an install or deliver a service, we collect the following information:

Contact details

We will collect personal data that may include your:

  • Full name

  • Your email address

  • Your address

  • Your contact telephone number

  • Your credit or debit card details

We may collect bank card data that includes:

  • Name on the relevant credit or debit card

  • Card type, like a debit or credit card

  • Card expiry date

  • Credit or debit card number

  • Credit or debit card security code - this is not kept after the payment is processed

You consent to the collection, processing, storing and use of your personal data to enable us to fulfill your order or service. This may include providing your details to selected subcontractors who will act as data processors under our control.

We may process your personal information given our legitimate interest in advising you of additional products or services that we believe may be of interest or benefit to you. This may include (but not limited to) reminders of annual servicing for your range cooker or stove.

The above information must be provided in order to place your order and refusal to provide the required information or the withdrawal of consent will result in the failure to provide our installation or chimney sweep services.

You have the right to see the information that we have about you and to receive this information in a format suitable for data portability. This information can be provided either as a PDF (Portable Document Format).

You may also exercise your right to be forgotten at any time, providing your order has been completed and there are no outstanding balances on your account. This will delete all records of your personal data from our systems and will no longer be retrievable.

The processes of requesting your data or activating the deletion of your data can be performed by calling us on 01534 483921 and requesting your personal data.

For security reasons, personal data can only be sent to the email or postal address associated with your order.

Your data protection rights

Under data protection law, you have rights including:

  • Your right of access - You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal  information.

  • Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask us to rectify information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you  think is incomplete.

  • Your right to erasure - You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances.

  • Your right to restriction of processing - You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your information in certain circumstances.

  • Your right to object to processing - You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data in certain circumstances.

  • Your right to data portability - You have the right to ask that we transfer the information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.

  • You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have four weeks to respond to you.


Retention of payment details provided during the order process

When you provide card details to make a transaction, once the purchase has been authorised, your card details are no longer stored in full or accessible by us.

Marketing Communications

We will only send you communication for the purposes of marketing the products and services sold through HCS Stoves & Range Cookers if you have opted in to receive this information.

The personal information we hold for you for marketing purposes will never be shared with any third party.

Information may be collected if you opt-in to receive marketing during the booking process, when you complete a newsletter sign up form or if you contact us to request inclusion to receive marketing communications. 

Our email provider for the purposes of marketing is MailChimp. Only information provided to us by you for the purposes of marketing are shared with MailChimp. This may consist of your email address and product preferences. Data is provided to MailChimp only and stored securely and will never be shared with another third party.

You can request removal from our marketing database at any time either by clicking the ‘unsubscribe’ or ‘update my preferences’ link in a marketing email that you have received from us or by emailing info@hcsjersey.com.
